From 2019 to 2022 Linda Cleary curated a Literary Fiction department for Hypatia Publications of which there have been four releases; the fourth and final publication of the curation, Whistling Jack, was released in May 2022.

From moral welfare work to social care, this compassionate charity illustrates the changes during the 20th century in attitudes towards girls in trouble and the greater opportunities that became available to them.
A second chance was given to ‘fallen’ women and ‘wayward’ girls to turn their lives around, get training, find a job and become responsible mothers.
