Did you know that The Hypatia Trust has a women writers bookshop at its premises on Chapel Street?

Hypatia's bookshop, Women in Word, celebrates exclusively female authors - from Hypatia Publications' own titles, local and regional writers and an ever changing pre-loved books collection (did we mention we have a whole load of Virago titles, Spare Rib, Ali Smith, Margaret Atwood - to name but a few of the amazing books on our shelves).

In our collection are Ex Libris Hypatia books offering you the opportunity to browse a curated selection of books from our archive to buy: the selection is constantly evolving and includes vintage art magazines, 21st century poetry collections and academic, social history and reference books.

More than just a place with books to sell, we have a programme of talks, screenings, events, workshops and activities.  You’ll find us here.
